mod: Upgrader Items on Modrinth
I played Minecraft with the Upgrader Items mod, which turns progression into one giant gamble. The mod adds an Upgrader where I can put in an item, choose a better item I want, and spin for a chance to upgrade it. If the wheel lands in the winning zone, I get the new item. If it misses, the item I gambled is completely gone.
The crazier the upgrade, the worse the odds. The mod calculates item values using their actual crafting recipes, with success chances ranging from 0.1% to 90%, so technically even ridiculous upgrades are possible if I’m willing to risk enough.
So instead of progressing through Minecraft normally, I tried to gamble my way from basic resources into increasingly valuable gear without losing everything along the way.
